Dr. Major L. Boglin, PhD, LMFT, CDE, is a highly accomplished therapist, executive, educator, and consultant with deep expertise in individual and couples counseling, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and intercultural competence. He led the Genesis Center for Christian Counseling for more than 20 years, integrating clinical, academic, and systemic leadership expertise. He is a Certified Diversity Executive with extensive experience designing and implementing DEI strategies, conducting intercultural competence audits, and leading organizational culture change initiatives across mid-sized institutions and faith-based organizations.
His clinical background includes advanced training in marriage and family therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, emotionally focused therapy, Bowenian therapy, and neurofeedback, as well as experience in consulting, supervision, and crisis intervention. He is adept at equipping leaders and teams to foster inclusive environments, developing and delivering training on cultural responsiveness, and facilitating workshops on inclusion and belonging. Dr. Boglin’s academic contributions include teaching graduate-level courses, supervising clinicians, and publishing research on Black families, resiliency, and marital therapy.
He is recognized for aligning DEI initiatives with organizational goals using objective-and-key-results frameworks and business process transformation. His leadership extends to board service and community engagement, where he has contributed to strategic planning and governance. Dr. Boglin’s skills are further supported by certifications from Cornell University and the Institute for Diversity Certification, and he is an active member of professional associations in therapy and diversity. His career reflects a commitment to advancing equity, fostering intercultural understanding, and supporting individual and organizational growth. He continues to train beginning therapists as an adjunct instructor in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Abilene Christian University's Dallas campus.
